When
real estate investor
Kristi Oman wanted to
publicize her new commercial
property website, she
did what many industrious
small business owners
do...she tried to handle
it in-house.
“I
wanted to get a story
in our metro newspaper,
so I had a staff member
begin calling reporters,”
says Oman.
“Editors
flat out weren’t interested.
We actually ended up
annoying the very people
we wanted convince.”
That’s
when Powerhouse Media
Service got involved
and Oman began getting
results. By developing
the story behind the
product and pitching
it the right way, Powerhouse
successfully placed
Oman’s story in the
Minneapolis StarTribune.
The paper ran a feature
story about
GoFishCommercial.com
on the front page of
its business section,
complete with a full
color photo of Oman.
“My
website got 50,000
hits the day my story
ran in the newspaper,”
says Oman.
Multiple
media exposure makes
an even larger impact,
so Powerhouse then
pitched the website
story to the area’s
premier business magazine.
They covered the story
in one of their groundbreaking
issues, complete with
photos.
“Every
time my site is in
the news, its more
evidence to my customers
that GoFishCommercial.com
is a major player in
commercial real estate,”
says Oman. “News placement
is an important part
of my business plan
as I expand my website
to other markets.” |
